I LOVE SNOW!!!

For those who don't know... WINTER IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR!!!
I'm loving this snow it is aaammmaaazzziiinnnggg !!!

Here's some fun snow stories so far:

The snow plow was busy on main roads so my dad pushed our dirt road with the tractor but only the middle section so it was like driving in a tunnel!!!

Luke, my brother, got stuck pretty good in the driveway...

Mom and I pushed some neighbors out of the snow bank on our way to spread holiday cheer with cookie bouquets...

The snow plow got stuck in front of my parents house so Luke and Dad helped to shovel him out...

My grandma called me this morning because the snow that fell of her roof blocked her door and Russ and I dug her door out of the snow...

I'm sure there will be more to come!!! The snow just brings with it so many memories!!!

Summer in the Mountains

Summer has been wonderful! Russ and I were once again able to spend our summer in the high uinta mountains. This year we worked on East Timothy Lake in the Swift Creek drainage ant it was such a beautiful spot, I wish I would have taken more pictures... but the few I took I quite enjoy!

Wedding Photos

Considering it has been over a year... this post is LATE! But I just got my Wedding Photos and I just thought I would share them!

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

so it has been a while since my last post... but that is mainly because not much has been happening here in Lamb Country... which has actually been really nice... it's warming up and Russ and I are loving it! We have been on a couple little hikes (well I call them hikes, and Russ calls it shed hunting) just in the cedars behind the house, and we play catch to get us ready for the softball season (it has been really fun... except Russ tried to knock my front teeth out... accidentally), and other than that we've just been doing the same old same old... I do school (which there is only 3 1/2 weeks left of!!!) and Russ works and works... Also I have renovated the bathroom toot toot! (that toot toot is just to make me feel better about myself considering our bathroom is about 4 ft. long and 3 ft. wide and it has literally taken me 3 weeks to do this project... lame I know but I wasn't loving the color so I just gave up and quit for a while but today I finally just finished it no matter what the color!). Anyways I have a few After pictures of what it looks like... I didn't take any Before pictures but I wish I would have... most of you know what it looked like before anyways...

Yeah, that is our bathroom renovation... I'm also hoping to put some tile down... of course it's not going to get done until school is over...

Update

So... pretty much all I've been doing lately involves my Yoga Psychology Research project and I am happy to say it is going well. I recently was awarded FULL finding from the Undergraduate Research and Creative Opportunities committee at USU. And now I will be working with Dr. Johnson to create a proposal fit to send to the Institutional Review Board!

I'm so happy that I live in the Uintah Basin because of the great community support I have already received! I have been so lucky to acquire a facility that generously approves and supports the project 100% in fact they insisted we use the facility at no cost (how great is that... only in the Basin are people generous)! I also found a wonderful instructor who is so supportive and I am so excited to work with her more!

Although we have come so far... the IRB estimates a 3 - 4 month waiting process while they go through proposals with a fine tooth comb... This is going to be a long wait but I also think it will be a great time to slow down and smell the roses!! ;) Also Russ and I will be working on the Mountain again this summer and I can't wait!

Other things our life... Russ sprang his ankle playing in the church ball stake tournament (but it is healing). Next week is spring break (Yay!) and Russ and I are going to go to the Jazz vs. Hornet game! Our 1st wedding anniversary is in exactly 2 weeks (finally we get to eat the rest of our cake... maybe... I hear after a year it probably won't taste fantastic)! That is pretty much it for now :)

Undergraduate Research & Creative Opportunities

This semester has been going great; especially because Professor Johnson from my Fall semester classes contacted me in January asking if I would be interested in doing an Undergraduate Research Project on my final course paper that I wrote in his class! I have been editing this paper and planning the Research Project ever since. I just submitted my application, proposal paper, and 2 letters of recommendation (1 from Professor Johnson and 1 from the Psychology Dept.) about 2 minutes ago and I'm very excited to see if my Proposal gets full funding! If my proposal is approved I will be conducting a study on "Yoga to Reduce Hypertension in Pregnant Women Residing in Rural Areas" I will be conducting this study in the Uintah Basin and I'm anxious to see the effect it will have on women in my own community.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM

My mother's birthday was yesterday January 11th... she is 50 years old! She is so awesome and I know that 50 will be nifty :D
She and my dad are headed to Hawaii next week and I am so excited for them... and maybe a little jealous... But I hope she had the best birthday ever!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

New Year

I can't believe it is 2010! It absolutely blows my mind. But I just know the 2010 year is going to be fantastic. I just started school and Russ is really busy working construction. We are both looking forward to the 2010 year our year anniversary will be March 27, 2009 which is coming up really fast! Russ and I are hoping that we can work in the High Uinta Mountains again. We are both in the Young Men and Young Women programs in the Neola 2nd ward and we are excited to be able to work with the youth in our word, also it is really fun to do the combine activities together.
My goals for the year
* Go to the temple at least once a month
* Take Russ to a Jazz game
* Spend time sowing and quilting
* Renovate our bathroom
* Study the scriptures more
* Get straight "A's" in my college classes
* Finish requirements to be in the Psychology program... so I can graduate in 2011
* Establish a concrete budget and save money
* Learn to cook and us that learning more often

I hope everyone has a great 2010 year!
